Imran Khan’s UK advisor and friend announced raising £100,000 but has not sent a penny to Pakistan, used money for honey trips with female friend; PTI activists demand investigation; video evidence
A close aide of Imran Khan and his partner have used funds for personal purposes – raised for Namal College Mianwali and Shaukat Khanum Cancer Research Hospital – and last year at a fundraiser in London.
PTI insiders have confirmed that Imran Khan’s advisor and PTI leader in UK and Europe Sahibzada Jahanagir Chico and his partner Aisha Jamil have not sent a single penny into Namal or Shaukat Khanum accounts in UK, Pakistan or anywhere else.
Instead, the money has been used for the couple’s luxury holidays and shopping spree at places such as Harrods, Oxford Street and a holiday trip to Paris and Duba.
Nawab restaurant in central London hosted the fundraiser on 13th of May 2016 for which Imran Khan especially came from Pakistan and remained at the venue for three hours – and made a speech and asked for donations.
On the night of the dinner, Aisha Jamil issued a statement to media through her twitter account stating that she “raised £100K for Namal College tonight with Imran Khan”. When contacted the Namal College fundraising committee in UK and Pakistan said that “out of £100K raised, not a single penny has yet been sent and the organisers have told us that the money has been sent on expenses in organsing the dinner”.
Communication between PTI European leader and his partner and Pakistan office of PTI shows that the pair have categorically told the Namal college committee that this matter shouldn’t be pursued any further.
Show cause notices have been issued to Aisha Jamil, who works at a law firm in London, and Sahibzada Jahangir but both have not bothered to reply. However, despite usurping large charity amount they continue to be in the good books of Imran Khan and its understood that Imran Khan has stopped the disciplinary committee from taking any action against the couple because Chico Jahangir is a confidante of Imran Khan and he also has the support of Aneel Musarrat, who recently hostedAnil Kapoor at his family wedding and invited Imran Khan as well for the same wedding.
PTI insiders have complained that its unfair that Pakistani community members were lied about the fundraising and facts not told to them as £100,000 is a lot of money. The PTI insider said that when the donors contacted Aisha Jamil and her partner, she told them to “sod off” and “stop moaning” and went on to explain to them that “they should be thankful that they met Imran Khan in person, saw him in stage and that was worth the money they spent on buying tickets and donating money”.
When asked she had confirmed in tweet that she has raised £100K and whether she has proof that she paid the money, Aisha Jamil put down the phone uttering obscenities to one senior PTI accountant who wishes to remain anonymous.
It has also been reliably learnt that PTI leaders in UK Aneel Musarrat, Barrister Waheed Iqbal and Amjad Khan accounted on the night that they will each give £5K to Namal College and Imran Khan Cancer Research Hospital but none of them have given anything when they were later contacted to give the money as they promised.
They said they pay to Imran Khan directly and they were making public pledges to donate to arouse the public into giving money. PTI insiders have said that this matter may end up with Charity Commission if the couple don’t pay up the money urgently.
Imran Khan says that funds raised by PTI reach to the poor and needy but the misuse and corruption of £1000K raises big questions for Imran Khan. PTI insiders say that misuse of funds in UK may be picked up by PMLN in Pakistan and the matter could end in Supreme Court.
A senior PTI leader said that sahibzada Jahangir is involved in financial fraud in the UK and has been declared bankrupt by the court for not paying his bills and liabilities. He said that sahibzada Jahangir and other PTI leaders live off PTI funding which is raised in the name of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Research Hospital, Namal College and PTI.
